Get cash for clothes with musicMagpie

It’s officially a new season people – and don’t we know it? We’re swapping camisoles for cardigans, frappuccinos for chai teas and al fresco cinema for the good ‘ol indoors. Autumn also means our summer of gloriously gallivanting around town might have left us a little strapped for cash. So if the 9 to 5 is barely cutting it and you’d like a bit more moola in the bank, dig up and dust off last season’s couture because they could be more valuable than you think. musicMagpie is formerly known as that place to go to if you wanted to sell your old CDs – before they eventually started accepting DVDs, games and devices – but they’re now offering cash for your unwanted clothes. It’s a useful way to not only put more dough in your pocket but also help you to make a bit more room in your wardrobe (and if yours is anything like my tiny box, this can only be a good thing). It’s quite simple to use too. On the site, you just use the drop down menus to select the brand and type of garment you want to sell (i.e. ZARA crop top), choose the gender (Female), and enter a few more details like size, colour and material, and you’ll get a valuation for the item. We discovered vintage items have a bit more value than high street (our Zara crop top was only worth £1.11!), but value enough items – you have to do at least 10 – and the numbers start to look a lot more attractive. It’s definitely worthwhile too if you want to get rid of those impulse buys you might have forgotten about (and probably never want to think about again!) – and if anything, make the run-up to Christmas a little more stress-less in the cash department.
