Last summer, Dean Chalkey and Harris Elliott’s Return of the Rudeboy exhibition at Somerset House was a fascinating insight into the subculture of 21st century rudeboys – sartorial individuals with dapper tastes and style, inspired by a long history of musical and cultural movements in the UK and abroad. This quick pop-up offers the highlights, but it also marks the launch of an accompanying coffee table book of Chalkey’s stunning portraits that made the 2014 show such a big hit. The limited edition copies are available at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden today (Friday) or Saturday, along with a programme of screenings, Q&As, live DJs and an art and sound installation. If you missed last year’s show, scrap your weekend plans; the Rudeboy Salon is your chance to experience the brilliance of a significant movement.
The Rudeboy Salon is free entry and for more information visit www.returnoftherudeboy.com
