We love a good cocktail (or two) so we’re glad to recently discover a new bar after our own hearts; Kamique is where you go if you’re looking for spot in the West End that’s not only fun for hanging out, but prides itself on the quality and creativity of their drinks. It’s not everywhere that you can find at least 10 varieties of Mojitos, glamorous mixes and a fruity house drink called the “Kamiquitini” that makes us wish it was summer again!

kamique_2

Kamique also offers a decent selection of  food, especially if you’re looking to visit before a night at the theatre – and we personally recommend the lip-smacking, towering Smoked Special with its super-crisp onion rings, smoked cheddar, bacon and BBQ sauce.

So for your chance to enjoy this and more at Kamique this autumn, simply fill in your details below – the competition closes on November 15th and a winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

We’re so fortunate to live in one of the most innovative cities in the world – but in case you needed to be reminded of that fact, talents from music, design, art, photography and food will be brought together for one night on September 12th to celebrate the London’s blistering creativity. In homage to the way Cutty Sark whisky was smuggled into the US 90 years ago, performances will take place inside a giant reproduction of a wooden cargo crate (ah-mazing?) with the soulful Jessie Ware headlining the unique proceedings.

Other guests on board include DJ and producer Duke Dumont, Burlesque star Miss Polly Rae and music photographer Tom Oxley, who’ll be presenting an exhibition of “video portraits” where he captured the likes of Liam Gallagher, Jake Bugg and Azealia Banks. Then there’s the food and booze, which will come courtesy of Meat Liquor’s Yianni Papoutsis, while 1920s inspired cocktails will be served at a secret speakeasy in the crate, run by 69 Colebrooke Row.
Finally, further artsy displays will come from The Shanty Theatre Company, It’s Nice That and design studio Flat-e, making all this sound like one heck of an amazing night out – so for your chance to win a pair a tickets, enter by doing one of the following:

Simply ‘like’ us on Facebook, and post this on our wall:  I really, really  wanna go to Cutty Cargo!

Or tweet: I really, really  wanna go to Cutty Cargo! to @culturalexpose

One of my New Year’s resolutions those many months ago was to have plenty more experiences, memories and adventures to write and instagram home about – so entering a competition like Stories Beat Stuff to win the trip of a lifetime to New Zealand was a bit of a no-brainer (!).  All I’d have to do for this opportunity to enjoy an amazing time away with three (!) of my nearest and dearest, is simply share what treasured possession I’d trade it for:

And the prizes? Well, now that it’s Phase 2 of the comp, two new incredible experiences are up for grabs.  There’s Winter Highlife,  an epic skiing trip which includes lessons, VIP tickets to the Queenstown Winter Festival and the chance to bungee jump, snowboard, jet boat and sky dive – or Natural Goodness, where I could go paragliding, rafting, kayaking, see local wildlife and enjoy a overnight cruise, staring at the stars  – brilliant, no?!
I opted for Winter Highlife (I’ve always wanted to go skiing!) and would figured I’d trade my vintage DEFIANT box record player which I bought some years ago –  I’m CONVINCED  it’s worth something? –  and Teddy Pendergrass’s Greatest Hits thrown in (reluctantly) for good measure – and yes, this baby still works!:
Stories Beat Stuff
So if you fancy your chances at winning this competition too, just record a video or  send in a photo of what you’d trade for the trip to www.storiesbeatstuff.com – then choose your 3 mates you’d want to come along, and get canvassing for votes via all your social media outlets – Twitter, Facebook, Google + you name it.  You might also want to visit  http://www.facebook.com/purenewzealand/app_141439529289323  t0 see some of the entries so far to get your creative juices flowing. So good luck to all those who enter – it’s a fantastic competition  (and …if you vote for me, I promise to vote for you ;-)

As I'm sure most of you will agree, there is nothing like having good sing-song, as it truly does blow those cobwebs away. I've always envied the vocalist who can belt out an amazing note, get carried away on a tune, entertain the masses. But, like some of you, I have generally confined my sweet dulcet tones to the bedroom or karaoke booth at 1am – until now.   Forget your musical modesty and get yourself involved in Something for the fans – a new competition, that's quite amazing to say the least. It gives you the opportunity to sing, nay, DUET, with some of our most loved artists of the minute. Artists such as Emeli Sande, JLS and Labrinth are all involved – but the best part? You'll be performing with them on a TV advert during the BRIT awards of course!

The competition is in conjunction with Priceless London, a campaign that aims to bring MasterCard holders closer to those unique experiences that money cannot buy.  And with the BRIT awards fast approaching – (remember our competition filling you in on this back in November? if not see here) and all the usual amazing talent that that involves like the soulful Adele, the hot to trot Miss Jessie J, and the reappearance of the big man himself Noel Gallagher – you will no doubt be feeling inspired to practice a cord or two. So if you fancy yourself as a bit of a singer/entertainer or want a backstage BRITS experience then get yourself down to Priceless London, for experiences beyond the pound.
