An American in London can be forgiven for being a bit overwhelmed on Thursday, 28 November, as many places are offering special Thanksgiving dinner menus for the day. So whether you’re an expat looking for a taste of home (sadly, without the bank holiday) or just interested in finding a reason to eat and drink to your heart’s content, here are a few places to check out:

  • The Breakfast Club and Bodeans are both offering up a Thanksgiving menu with the Breakfast Club’s  featuring a classic interpretation of the turkey and its trimmings, while Bodeans is offering a more BBQ-inspired selection of food.
  • Head east to BBQ and whiskey specialists Beard to Tail who will be serving  an a la carte menu that emphasises the whiskey cocktails just as much as the turkey for Thanksgiving.

  • Several eateries in west London are offering up traditional  dinners. For a white linen experience, Hix Mayfair is serving a three-course meal in the gorgeous setting of the Browns Hotel. For a more family-friendly atmosphere, The Truscott Arms in Maida Vale will be providing an all-day family feast from 12:30-9:30pm that includes champagne on arrival and a huge spread of traditional foods.
  • Bea’s of Bloomsbury are putting on a  full traditional Thanksgiving feast at its Bermondsey location with a massive menu befitting the holiday, including three different types of stuffing,  buttermilk biscuits and Parker House rolls. The feast is £45 for food only or £65 for all-you-can drink beer, wine, and mulled wine. The feast is on offer Thursday through Saturday for those that want to save the gluttony for the weekend.
  • And for  those wanting to celebrate Thanksgiving at home, Partridge’s in Sloane Square has long been the go-to place for American food supplies, while Whole Foods Market are offering take home Thanksgiving kits to assemble your own feast. Enjoy!
