Overlooking the chaos of the city is a lovely little rooftop with a difference. You can now escape from the winter weather and warm up at WigWamBam, a cosy, heated wigwam on top of the Queen of Hoxton. Of course no domed dwelling would be complete without a bar and grill, so you can enjoy a hot mulled cider and chargrilled snack while snuggling up under the twinkle of fairy lights. The wigwam is in residence for three months, with themed nights and eccentric events taking place throughout. So head down and enjoy live readings, ukelele jam sessions, acoustic music and sing-a-longs under the stars.

Somewhere you should go…HOOLA FEST, Queen of Hoxton, August 21st

The Queen of Hoxton is offering a free summer extravaganza in the form of HOOLA FEST on Sunday , August 21st.

It brings together dance workshops, a carnival procession from Perpetual Odyssey and banging music from DJs such as Kev Beadle (Solar Radio) and Brazilian rapper Mano Lipe – and to top it all off, you’ll have a chance to get those hips swirling and twirling with a Hoola hooping workshop! Alternatively, you can try a free Zumba taster session (check out our experience of Zumba here) or work your cool in a street dance lesson with Starlight Music Academy. Add to all this a raffle to fund hoola-hooping workshops in Bosnia, and here’s a feel good fiesta to add to your social calendar this month! (Words: Monique Todd)

To help you make the most of the lovely weather, we’ve teamed up with Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch to give away a pair of tickets to their film club on their lovely revamped roof terrace! Dedicated to showcasing some of the most classic flicks in cinema history, the club’s become the go-to spot this season – and not only can the lucky winner choose choose any date to attend (from July 17th onwards*), but they’ll also get VIP seats and a jug of Pimms! For your chance to win, simple ‘like us’ on Facebook (if you haven’t already), post up the name of the film you’d want to see this month (you can even chose the ‘sold out’ flicks) and you’ll be entered into the prize draw!
