]]> Stumbling across this space – out of the crazy fug of Dalston High Street –  is like being welcomed into secret community of green-fingered peace-loving Londoners… and that’s not even too much of an exaggeration. It’s got the authentic feel of a space designed for and used by people who love it and live nearby. Built as part of an art project, the garden has been kept alive by the community that uses it; there’s a covered seating area, a (surprisingly clean) toilet, home-made scarecrows, a herb garden, and it’s even got a working pizza/bread oven! It’s open every day 11am-6pm (weather permitting), and sits right opposite Dalston Junction overground station so if you’re kicking around the area and the sun’s out, there’s absolutely no excuse for not going in to have a look and/or having a fabulous picnic.
