Long gone are the days when England was the greasy stain on the culinary world. The likes of Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and a revamp of the Grossman classic Masterchef, have got us all licking our lips and getting our hands dirty in the kitchen – and what a great thing that is too! Only problem is that whilst the food revolution continues, some of us mere mortals can’t afford top-end prices for dining, so are missing out on the juiciest bits; a travesty. Well, here’s the good news – Taste of London Festival brings all the best restaurants in London, superstar chefs from around the globe and the best food and booze brands together in a lovely park without the sky high price tag.

You can expect to see a huge range of foods on show – some free samples and some you will need to pay for in the festivals very own ‘Crown’ currency. If you can drag yourself away from the freeness,  there will talks and demonstrations from top notch chefs to attend including  wine matching with René Redzepi (yes that’s correct – the head chef from the recently voted best restaurant in the world – NOMA), Beer and Tapas masterclass with Omar Allibuoy and a Peugeot-sponsored patisserie stall with too many Michelin-starred guests to mention. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! (Words: Laura Thornley)

The Taste of London Festival runs from June 16th – 19th – and advance tickets start from £22 t0 £95. Visit www.tastefestivals.com/london for more details.
