What we’ve been up to… olive tasting + tapas at The Lounge, Balham

As a proud West Londoner with a heart for the East side, it usually takes alot more than  Brixton Village to get me south of the river  - but downtown is exactly where I was on September 3rd when I was invited to enjoy olives and spanish food at The Lounge in Balham (and yes, it was worth the trek).

Organised by the Friday Food Club  - a popular underground supper club in South London -  and  the Olives from Spain campaign,  the event featured plenty of tapas and even a cooking demo from celebrity chef Omar Allibhoy, who shared the many virtues of olives and how they can be used in cooking – whether it’s in the classic Spanish dish tortilla or in chocolate truffles (!).

You can check out our pics from the event below, but if you’re based down South and want more info about the Friday Food Club, follow them on Twitter:  www.twitter.com/FridayFoodClub
